My Siren Song

Here I am

There you are

And judging by the light that dances on the shore

You're not too far

So I sing my song so ancient, so clear

Hoping you’ll hear the melody I hold dear

This siren’s song not just for anyone

It’s woven with threads of longing

Spun from the moon and stars

Only the truest love can follow its hidden scars

To others it may seem sweet, too benign

But to you my euphony will taste of time

This melody forged in my soul long ago

Has waited in silence longing to show

Its notes of sorrow, love, and joy meant to last

In place of this dark shadow that's been cast

Come closer now into the tide

Where shadows dance and secrets hide

This song has dwelt within my heart

Waiting for the one who’d play their part

And now I rise from the deep

For the soul that is mine to keep

Come into the water where I wait

So this siren no longer cries for heaven’s sake

The closer you get the louder I call

A pull so strong that you can’t stall

Until you're by my side ready to rise or fall
